Character / Color:
The African wood makorÈ is highly prized for its characteristic and relatively homogenous reddish coloring. The light reddish to reddish brown wood is faintly figured by dark late growth zones and is lightly striped on the radial surfaces, where decorative lustrous stripes can be seen. Although often straight-grained, the wood can also have a wavy grain or a double cross-grain.
